Turn on your camera: Even if it is just for a few moments, students are more engaged with instructor content when they can see their face, not just the slides.Include activities: Between segments, have students participate in the chat feature or in breakout rooms before moving on to the next segment.Keep it short: Break up your long lectures into shorter pieces to keep students engaged. ![]() Speak clearly: Make sure the microphone on the computer sounds clear and you record in a place with minimal background noise.Students can also record their presentations using Zoom and share it with others in the course. Set each meeting to "record automatically to the cloud". All Zoom class sessions scheduled within Camino and recorded to the cloud will automatically be uploaded to the Class Recordings folder in Camino.Īll “live” classes using Zoom should be recorded for later viewing in case a student loses internet connectivity. The Zoom interface includes a variety of features as well as the option to record. Zoom Pro is fully integrated into Camino (SCU's instance of Canvas) so that you can schedule, start, and join meetings from your course page. It is accessible from a computer or a smartphone, and it is possible to invite non-SCU affiliated people to join virtual meetings. Zoom allows up to 300 participants in one meeting.
